Standard Fin Koi
Koi (Cyprinus carpio) are a member of the carp family. Along with several varieties of wild carp, the carp family also includes farm-raised koi and butterfly fin koi. Koi range in size from 2.5" to 36" but given the proper settings can grow even larger. Also known as Nishikigoi, Koi are a domesticated, colorful variety of the common carp. Standard Fin Koi have an oval body shape, as opposed to the Butterfly Koi which tend to be more slender.
Koi are a great addition to any freshwater aquarium or garden pond. They can be mixed with any straight tailed goldfish including common goldfish, sarasa comets, pond comets and shubunkins, as well as butterfly koi.
Ozark Fisheries takes great pride in providing our customers with high quality koi and butterfly koi at reasonable prices. For your convenience, we do offer two grades of our koi and butterfly koi. Standard grade (or pond run) is a mix of all the koi in a particular tank. Select grade (or premium) are koi that have been hand selected by our shipping staff. These koi and butterfly koi exhibit the best patterns, brightest colors, and excellent overall body conformation. Our Koi come in a variety of colors, from solid yellow to tri-color patterns. We sell assorted color varieties and do not sell specific Japanese color varieties.
We use an indoor hatching/spawning facility at both our wholesale koi farms to insure a controlled, reliable spawning process. By spawning our koi and butterfly koi in a controlled environment here at our fish farm, as opposed to natural spawns in our mud ponds, we can control what females spawn with which males. This allows for the best color matches and higher quality. It also increases the survival rate of the koi fry.
Our koi and butterfly koi at both our Missouri and Indiana fish farms are tested twice a year by an independent lab and are disease free. Our fish farms have tested negative for all these koi diseases.
