Crayfish (assorted varieties and sizes) are also known as crawfish, crawdads, or freshwater lobsters are crustaceans that live in streams, rivers, and ponds. Typically our crayfish range in size from 2" - 5" in length. Crayfish are omnivores and feed on animals and plants, either living or decomposing. Please be aware that crayfish are a more active and semi-aggressive animal. They are also a burrowing creature and it is important to have proper rock or vegetation for them to take cover. They can coexist with other fish species but need adequate space and environment. Please note the pictures shown are a good representation of our crayfish, but not the exact crayfish you will receive.
Crayfish do have some restrictions for certain states. Always check local and state area restrictions regarding live animals. Missouri is restricted to only Northern or Virile Crayfish (Faxonius virilis.) Do not release any aquarium or pond species into public waterways.
